JUST LIKE MAMA SCRAPED
Remember there was a big story about the Big Mac Special sauce being sold by auction? It had was finally sold for thousands of Aussie dollars.
Never one to miss an opportunity to poke a sleeping giant with a pointy stick, I decided to make my very own jar of special sauce and auction it off for a charity I volunteer for – Keen, a North London organisation that helps disabled children.
One trip to McDonald's Camden to buy them out of Big Macs, lots of careful dismantling and scraping with a spoon and, eventually, I had my very own bottle to put on ebay....huzzah!
It was up and going well. By the end of the first day it had accumulated £65 for my charity.
I woke up on the second day, 'relishing' the thought of getting more bids and then this happened...
The sauce was taken off, no reply from eBay as to why. I get the feeling someone wasn't 'lovin' it'.
The highest bidder offered the money to charity anyway so there was a positive end to the story, although I did have a very disgruntled girlfriend over the lingering burger smell in our flat.
Burger King, you're next.
